News - next Voices PLUS singing day April 21st 2012
By popular request out of a successful first 'launch' Voices PLUS singing day last October, Jane will lead the next workshop in the series on Saturday 21st April 2012 10.30am-4pm. It will again take place in Hempton Memorial Hall near Fakenham in Norfolk. The day is for adults (14+) of any age and singing experience- women and MEN alike. There is no need to read music, just bring you ears!
The workshop will start with some relaxing and simple voice limbering-up exercises before going on to singing together some approachable arrangements in harmony of songs this time selected from folk, gospel, African and medieval styles. Even as you read this Jane will probably be working up arrangements of some gems in each idiom!
The PLUS instrumentalist joining on this occasion will be Derek Paice wearing his percussionists' hat - he also plays percussion in Jane's Hoofbeat Streetband amongst other groups for which he has developed a trolley of normal and weird and wonderful instruments. Derek will join the workshop for the afternoon session.
Once again tickets will cost £12 if booked and paid for in advance by Wednesday 18th April, or £15 'on the door'. Light refreshments will also be available for breaks but bring lunch to share.
